ARTIST BIO
For the past ten years, I have exhibited my paintings at diverse venues in both Chicago and Germany. I received my BFA in 1986 and in 2000 studied with Michiko Itatani in the Masters program at the School of the Art Institute. I currently maintain a studio in the Flat Iron Arts Building in Chicago's Wicker Park neigborhood. |

STATEMENT
Images that are at once abstract and evocative; shapes briefly glimpsed in peripheral vision, flashes of a recurring dream, half-remembered, never forgotten.
In my paintings, I utilize a variety of unique painting techniques to create internal landscapes where foreground and background converge and where space is interpretive instead of absolute. Double-edged titles like "Head/Heart" suggest the fused and fragmented nature of obsession, but the ultimate meaning of each piece is an unspoken sythesis between viewer and myself. |
