STATEMENT
Today's world is a terrifying place, and it is rapidy becoming more so. As the enviroment worsens and war, sexism, and social inequality rage on, the general public is become more distracted and apathetic. This is what is allowing these terrors to continue. I long to help tansform this apathy; not only bring issues to the forefront of people's minds, but to facilitate their understanding that they can help. I want to communicate the fact that everyday we are on this Earth, we make a difference.
I am a performer, and that is how I want to reach people. To perform is to create an alternate reality into which you invite your audience and communicate to them a concept or idea. The hope is that they will empathize with this concept/idea, and take steps in their own lives to fight for it. I want more than anything to create meaningful work that will inspire and encourage positive thoughts and actions. I am in constant exploration of how to do this. |
