ARTIST BIO
Ashley Towne received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been a resident artist at Frans Masereel Center for Graphic Arts and twice at Ox-Bow School of Art. She currently resides in Chicago where she is co-publisher of the Tin Parachute Postcard Review. |

STATEMENT
Ashley Towneâ€â"¢s works on paper masterfully combine the distinct ideas of abstraction, landscape and the narrative. Her work transforms the routines of her daily life and the geography of her past and present into quiet, compelling stanzas of visual poetry. Towneâ€â"¢s art making methodology embraces the act of drawing, allowing for the elements of chance, luck and failure to remain and inform her ideas. |
