STATEMENT
Through my work I attempt to understand the relationship between the natural environment, the environment created by humans, and myself. Incorporating human-made found objects into seemingly untouchedd landcapes, I am interested in creating both a connection and disparity.
Issues of recycling, urban decay, and preserving nature permeate my work. My paintings do not offer any solutions to these issues, rather I am interested in the timeless questions my work raises. What role should nature play in our lives, especially within an urban context? And, how do we achieve balance between ourselves and nature?
