The Photography of Dave Kube
Presented By HumanThread

June 1-30, 2011/ Opening Reception: Friday June 10, 6-10

CHICAGO- For the month of June, The HumanThread Center in
Pilsen's Chicago Arts District showcases the next exhibition in its
thought-provoking series. Celebrating a culture of peace,
HumanThread expresses Chicago's creative culture by curating monthly
exhibitions that discuss issues of cultural identity and social importance.

Illinois photographer Dave Kube brings his Queering the Landscape
series to Chicago during LGBTQ pride month. This thought-provoking
body of work explores the simultaneous connectivity and dissonance
of time and space through the lens of a gay man. Utilizing the rural
Midwest as his familiar backdrop, Kube dissects identity with
confrontation, humor and simple harmony.

Dave Kube is an Assistant Professor at University of Illinois- Springfield
and holds his MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art and Design.
