Artist Statement:
The flood swept through our house. It was me that let it inside. I opened the front/back door and the water came rushing in, first up to my ankles then to my waist. The flood is a baptism, it is nature taking back what belongs to her, it is healing, and it is disaster. I am interested in how our human experience parallels with events in nature. It is unruly, unpredictable, sublime. I think about the end times, I think about everything we have done wrong and I make these drawings. There is hope in the ending: it is the beginning.
